KALESIJA 2014-07-17 Demining equipment used by the Bosnia and Herzegovina army. Bosnia and Herzegovina has one of the most severe landmine problems in the world. Due to the 1992-1995 war some two million landmines and unexploded munitions were spread across the territory. 2.4% of the country remains mined and recent flooding in May 2014 has unearthed and shifted landmines negating years of demining efforts. Demining teams are working to clear the country of mines with a strategic vision to clear Bosnia and Herzegovina by 2019. The Landmine Survivors Initiative (LSI) of Bosnia and Herzegovina support landmine/UXO and cluster munitions survivors by helping them to lead healthy fulfilling lives within their communities and society. The outreach work of LSI aims to improve survivorsÄô physical and mental health and increase their economic self-sufficiency and thereby the welfare of their families. LSI is in great need of funding./AIMMARTYN_1448.08/Credit:MARTYN AIM/SIPA/1408041515 Foto MARTYN AIM/SIPA / Sipa / TT / kod 20667 ref: SIPA/00689821/000008 ***BETALBILD*** *** Local Caption *** 00689821
