Johnny Carson Childhood Home For Sale

Oct 12, 2003; Norfolk, NE, USA; Talk show legend Johnny Carson's childhood home in Norfolk, Neb. is up for sale. Asking price for the 5-bedroom, 2-bathroom home is $159,000, or best offer. The longtime 'Tonight Show' host lived in the home from 1933 until the mid 1940's, according to its current co-owner, Jim Pruett, who bought the 1,500-square-foot house early this year and restored it to the period when Carson lived there from age 8. In the garage, Pruett says you can see where Johnny and his brother wrote their names. The front porch was reportedly Carson's first stage and Carson's father installed the fireplace. Pruett tried to sell the house on EBay in May, but the highest bid was barely more than Pruett and his partner, Rick Runge, paid for it. Photo by Courtesy Jim Pruett/ZUMA Press.
