Lord Frederick Cavendish (1836-1882), 19th century British Liberal politician, 1896. Recently appointed Chief Secretary for Ireland, Lord Frederick Cavendish (1836-1882) and his Permanent Irish Under-Secretary, Thomas Burke, were murdered by Irish nationalists whilst taking a walk in the grounds of Dublin's Phoenix Park on 6th May 1882.
