Nov. 11, 1968 - Churchill envelope sold for ~3000.: The envelope of a letter sent by Sir Winston Churchill while he was a prisoner of war in Pretoria during the Boer War, was sold for ~300 in the Stanley Gibbons's auction rooms, in London today. The envelope, which has five postmarks, including that of the camp censor, is dated December 2, 1899, and was addressed to a Major Ronald Kincaird-Smith, who was serving in India at the time.
