ALFRED HINDS

1964-07-31 Alfred George "Alfie" Hinds (1917 - 5 January 1991) was a British criminal who, while serving a 12-year prison sentence for robbery, broke out of three high security prisons. Despite the dismissal of thirteen of his appeals to higher courts, he was eventually able to gain a pardon using his knowledge of the British legal system Master escaper Alfred George Hinds was given a 'temporary pardon' by the Home Secretary Mr Henry Brooke. For the first time in over 11 years he could go home at night freely . Mr Brooker told MPs that Hinds will not have to return to Pentonville Prison till the 'unusual circumstances' of his case have been fully examined . Hinds is seeking immediate release .
