TORREVIEJA 2020-05-05 A flourescent pink lake dominates the landscape around the small town of Torrevieja in Spain. The striking environment was captured by photographer Henry Do from Las Vegas, Nevada. Henry said, : "The unusual pink color of the lake is caused by pigments of the Halobacterium bacteria and a micro-algae called Dunaliella Salina, and both somehow manage to live and thrive in very salty environments." "The water has been pink for many years and will continue to be for a long time since it does not have an outlet to the ocean."
