Romanian Roma princess Ana Maria Cioaba, 12, looks on during an Antena 1 TV talk show in Bucharest October 1, 2003. Romanian Roma king Florin Cioaba on Wednesday defied a state investigation into whether he forced his 12-year-old daughter to marry against her will and paraded her on TV to say the wedding was her choice. Ana Maria, whose marital age is common among Romania's traditional Roma who are estimated between 500,000 and three million, tried to escape the wedding by running out of the church ceremony but was convinced to return by her family.
